Easter Hunt

My school had an Easter egg hunt for all the staff members children the other day. There were so many kids there!!

This is Landon standing next to Hudson! Hudson has the most chubby cheeks, and they are just so sweet. Hudson's mom teaches next door to me, so we get to share stories about our little men quite often.
Landon had fun searching for eggs. He was very slow and poky at moving around, so he only got a couple of eggs. Ha! I don't think that he realizes (yet) that there is usually candy in those eggs! And this is Briley...she is such a cutie! Her mom also teaches kindergarten with me.

Mr. Independent

Landon wants to do everything by himself. Although is takes a great deal of patience sometimes, I am very thankful that he is trying to be independent. He was trying to put his jammies on all by himself. They were twisted in all the wrong directions, yet he wanted me to stay far away from him.
Something that would take me seconds to do for him can takes many many minutes if little man is wanting to do it independently...this is where the patience comes in!! Ha!!
He finally gave into my help, and he was just acting so silly before he went to bed!!

He has recently been wanting me to take his picture (I shouldn't get my hopes up, I know it won't last long!) just so he can see it played back on the camera. Usually he says, "tongue" and sticks his tongue out for the picture...he thinks it's funny to see it on the camera!!

Fireside

We kept the fire going most of the day today. I sure hope that it's the last time we will have to use the fireplace until next winter...it is spring after all.

Tonight after bath time, I got Landon dressed in front of the fireplace where it was nice and toasty.
Tonight was our last night of spring break, so that means we go back to school tomorrow. I'm pretty sure that Landon has missed his friends during this week off. Before I put him in his bed tonight, I told him that in the morning we were going to see Shelby and Wyatt (his friends at his sitters). I guess he thought I meant we were going at that moment, and he went to the door and cried for his friends. I love that he loves going to Ms. Shelley's house!!
As I am sitting here doing my blog, Landon is in his bed entertaining himself. He is saying, "Cow...moooooooooo", and then I hear him giggle.
Oh how this little boy has every little piece of my heart.

More Snow!!

Yesterday was the first day of Spring and it snowed...crazy!! The day before it was in the 70's, and we spent the day outside in short sleeves. I knew that a cold front was coming in, but I had no idea that it was going to snow.

Landon was a little disappointed with the snow this morning when he woke up. He really wanted to go play on his new play set, but it was way too cold and windy. He even put his shoes on and stood at the backdoor telling me, "slide". Hopefully this next week we'll be able to play outside...I think the weather is supposed to be nice.

Since it was so cold outside, we spent the day indoors playing.

Landon's new favorite place to sit is on the counter, of course, with my close supervision. He likes to sit up there when I am cooking or doing dishes.

My Grandmother

Landon and I went to visit my Grandmother today. I always enjoy visiting her, and I wish that she lived closer so that I could visit her more often.

My Grandmother has the sweetest heart, and I am so thankful that Landon is able to spend time with her. She has been such a positive influence in my life.
Landon played with dominoes while Grandmother and I played Skip-Bo. We also played a few games of Old Maid!! Ha!!

Bye Bye Pappy

We decided that it was time to take Landon's pacifier (or 'pappy' as Landon calls it) away. It was something that we wanted to do last summer when he was 1 1/2, but we just didn't have the heart to do it. He only uses it when he sleeps, and he has really grown attached to it the past few months.

We bought 4 balloons and tied his pacifier to it, and we let Landon let it go."Bye, bye pappy."
Landon ran after his pappy once it floated away, but he never cried.
We were really nervous about bedtime. We thought it would be a rough sleepless night, but it wasn't at all. Before Landon went to bed he did look in all the places that a pacifier usually is, and he kept saying, "pappy bye bye". He cried a little bit when we put him in bed, but eventually we heard him talking about his pappy going bye bye....and then he fell asleep.
I'm so proud of my big boy!!

Visiting the Grandparents

We kicked off our spring break with my parents. We spent ALL day Saturday shopping around town. We didn't buy a whole lot, but we did lots of looking! Landon shopped with us too. While we were shopping, David spent the day at Sea World with his nephew.
Mom and Dad have this foosball/coffee table at their house, and Landon really got into playing. He is showing the same competitive nature as his dad! Ha!

See what I mean...that is a serious game face.
He played so much that the next day he had little bruises on his forearms from hitting the edge of the table so many times.
One evening while we were there, Landon decided that Grandpa needed a fashion makeover!
I'm pretty sure that my dad wouldn't have let my sisters and I do this to him when we were growing up! Ha!
We got home early this afternoon, and we are already missing the nice south Texas weather! Landon went down for a nap as soon as we got home. All the shopping and time change really wore him out.
