Cake Balls

I found a recipe for Cake Balls on one of my favorite blogs, Kelly's Korner. They looked so easy and yummy that I thought I would make them. Yeah, well something didn't go completely right. You can see the recipe and what they were suppossed to look like by clicking HERE. Here is how mine turned out:

The more I made the worse they got. They do not look very pretty, but they really did taste good! The flavor turned out right, but my presentation was ALL wrong! :(
This is where it all went wrong.

The cake mixed with icing turned out right. I am going to make these again because they really are good. Hopefully next time it will work!

Happy 1st Birthday Miss Harley

My very best friends daughter, Harley, turned 1 this past week and she had a birthday party on Saturday. It is so hard to believe that Harley is already 1. I remember as I was walking through Target during my last week of pregnancy with Landon I got a phone call from Tandy telling me that she was pregnant. I was so happy for her that I wanted to scream right in the middle of the store (but I didn't). We always said that we wanted to be pregnant together, so that we could compare our pregnancies and our kids would be the same age. Much to our dismay we both learned the hard way that pregnancy isn't something that just happens when you want it to. But we were pregnant for 1 whole week together! I'm so glad that Landon and Harley are close in age--I see lots of fun outings in the future!
At the party there were lots of little kids running around that were close to Landon's age, so it was fun watching him play with everyone. There were toys everywhere and there were 2 mini-bounce houses...so much fun!! Little miss Harley is a big eater and she loved her birthday cake, unfortunately I didn't get a picture of her devouring it. :(

Landon loved the bounce house!!

My bouncing boy--what would I do without him?!?! He adds so much joy and happiness to our family!

"Yeah, it's Friday!!" We plan on sleeping in on Saturday, that is unless little man has other plans!

Spiders

I confiscated this plastic spider from an unlucky 5 year old today, so when I got home I put it on the floor to see Landon's reaction. When he sees bugs he usually says, "uh-oh" or "owie". It took him a while before he figured out that it wasn't real, and once he did figure out that it wasn't real he wanted to carry it every where. It even sat on his tray while he ate dinner! Silly boy!!

Landon is still "practicing" how to jump! Typically I do not let him play with the tray from his high chair, but he was having so much fun I just didn't have the heart to take it away.

Run in the Dark

What a great family night full of running/walking, live music, and a good cause. We participated in Run in the Dark, David, Landon, and I ran the 1 mile fun run together...well sort of--David pushed Landon in the stroller and they left me behind and beat me, I finished just a few seconds after them...grrr! I wanted to beat them!! After the fun run, David decided to run in the 5K too (I bet he will be hurting tomorrow!). Both of our schools put teams together because the run supports students in our schools. It really was a fun night. While David ran the 5K, Landon and I sat and listened to some live music and enjoyed some flavored icees.
Team SRE!! This is our PE teacher with her daughter, my principal and her husband, and one of our 4 grade teachers.

This is David's principal and his wife with their new baby girl. She is 4 weeks old and just so precious. Landon kept staring at her...I'm surprised that he is even looking at the camera! He was probably thinking..."hmmm, I'd like to go on a date with her." Ha!
Landon hanging out while Dad was running his race. David finished the race in 34 minutes--yeah David!! It was way past Landon's bedtime by the time the race finished, but Landon was so good. As soon as we got home he let put his jammies on and went right to bed.

Landon doing just what his Dad does--watch college football with remote in hand.
Say, "cheese"!
There is no better place for a "nack" (aka snack) than on a hamper.

My sweet boy!

Good Morning

Good morning, good morning, and how are you today? Here are few pictures of Landon from the past couple of mornings.

Little man watching cartoons while I make his breakfast.

Landon just had to have Scooby with him during breakfast. He somehow managed to eat all of his food with SD sitting on his tray.

It's raining,it's pouring...

Literally. It has been raining pretty much none stop all day long. Such a great day to be lazy and spend quality time together. I left for a quick trip to the grocery store, but other than that we have not left the house today...what a perfect day! This is a post full of random pictures and a couple of videos...enjoy!

Landon only uses a pacifier when he sleeps (he would keep it all day long if we would let him) and you can see how determined he is to get it out of his bed.

Landon has been trying so hard to "jump". He hasn't quite figured it out yet, but he is not giving up!

"Dad, will you please jump with me some more?"
Such a book lover. After we read a book Landon goes back to his book shelf for more or does the "more" sign. I love it when I find him in his room reading to himself...so precious.

Weekend Randomness

Here are just a few random pictures from our weekend. I am so thankful this was a three day weekend, it gave us time to recuperate from the craziness of last week. I think we are all rested and ready to face the 4 day work week.
"Come on dad, aren't you going to come out of there?"
Mommy's handsome little man.

Landon has a lot of stuffed animals up on a shelf in his room that we never take down, however this morning I did take a few of them down to see if Landon wanted to play with them. This little lamb was one of the few that I took down. I received this little lamb when Logan was in the hospital in Dallas. Landon picked it up as soon as he saw and carried it around all day...so sweet.

I tried to encourage Landon to leave the lamb in the house while we played outside so it wouldn't get dirty, but he wasn't having it. I guess being a mother you have to pick your battles.

The word "popsicle" is a word that Landon uses frequently as he runs to the freezer in hopes that David or I will give in. I tried so hard all weekend to get him saying it on video and many popsicles later I finally did. He says it in the video right before he tries to grab the camera...it sounds like "awwp-sicle".

3 Day Weekend

Yay for 3 day weekends!! I am so thankful that we have a three day weekend, we are worn out--all three of us!! Landon has been going to bed between 6:30-7:00 each night since school has started. He loves his school, but all the learning and playing leaves him with no energy in the evenings. This weekend I just want to hang out with my boys and relax and enjoy each other. We hope that you all have a wonderful weekend!

"Geez mom, enough with the pictures!!"
