Lots of Sand...

On Friday, we had a truck load of sand and a truck load of dirt delivered to our house so that we could make a sandbox for Landon and a vegetable garden. The two loads were dumped in front of the house and let me tell you---it was some super hard work to get it to the backyard where it needed to be. We worked ALL day on Saturday with the help of some great friends and neighbors, and we were able to get most of it completed.

Landon and some neighbor kids had a blast on this sand pile before we moved what we needed to the backyard, and although he had the best time playing in it he was filled with sand in every crevice of his little body. We made many trips to the backyard just like this. We filled the back of the truck and the kids hopped on for a ride to the backyard. They seriously had so much fun!!
This is our vegetable garden minus the veggies. We were just too worn out to plant them on Saturday, and on Sunday the weather was cold and dreary. We will definitely be planting away on the next warm day. I absolutely LOVE vegetables fresh out of a garden. We haven't made a garden like this since we moved here 5 years ago, but we had one in WF that was a little bigger than this one and it was one of my favorite things. I just hope we can keep all the rabbits out of it.
And here is Landon's ginormous sandbox. After we filled it with sand, Landon and some little neighbors had the best time driving little trucks through the sand. I see lots of fun ahead for this spring and summer!
We ordered just the right amount of dirt, however, we have TONS of sand left over.
We knew it just couldn't sit in our driveway, so David brought 56 five-gallon buckets home this afternoon and we are filling them up to get the sand out of the driveway.

So, if you are in need of some sand for a sandbox or know someone who is, send them our way...we have PLENTY!!!

March for Babies

Our family will be participating in the March for Babies in April. This will be our fifth year to participate. This is something that we LOVE doing as a family each year. We get to support a great cause, and it allows us to keep Logan's memory alive.

While I was on bedrest with Landon, I received weekly shots of progesterone to prevent pre-term labor. March of Dimes funded research that proved that progesterone shots do help prevent pre-term labor. This research may have played a part in the fact that we have Landon here and healthy.

Click HERE to see our personal page. These walks take place all over the United States. We will be walking on April 16th in Fort Worth, come walk with us!!

Thank you for giving hope to the families of babies born too soon or sick.

Tender Heart

This sweet little face found the lip gloss in mom's purse when she wasn't looking! :) He just makes my heart so happy! The other morning he woke up and the first thing he said was, "Mommy, the sun is awake! Where is the sun's mommy? Is she lost? Oh...she's all alone?"
I just love his tender little heart.

New Mexico

We spent a few days this past week visiting David's family in New Mexico. The weather was absolutely gorgeous and it was so nice to get away for a few days.

Landon and Grandma

While we were there we were able to visit with David's grandparents. They are just the sweetest couple and Landon is so blessed to know his great-grandparents. One of the highlights of the trip was getting to meet Katie. She turned 4 weeks the day we met her and she was just so precious. Jeff and Beth are so proud of this sweet little girl and I know they are going to be the best parents. David and Katie. Doesn't David look so handsome in this picture? I think so! :) I could have held this bundle of sweetness all day long.
Landon was a bit intimidated by baby Katie. When I asked him if he wanted to hold her he said, "No, mommy...she's too little for me." He has such a tender heart, he probably thought he would break her.

Whenever we are in NM we HAVE to enjoy some authentic Mexican food so here we are on St. Patricks Day eating a La Hacienda. The food wasn't as good as we remembered but we still got our 'fix'.
Two happy boys.
We took Landon to a museum called Explora and it was absolutely FABULOUS! Super hands-on and fun for the kids! We could have easily spent the whole day there!
Creating some music of his own.
Checking out a walking stick.
Landon really enjoyed the water portion of the museum. Landon keeps asking if we can go back to Explora, so I know we'll definitely have to go back next time we are in NM.

One of my favorite things during this trip was seeing this....

Outside of David's parents church is a reflection area with the stations of the cross and there are bricks along the sidewalk that can be purchased in memory or in honor of people. David's parents purchased a brick in memory of Logan. I LOVE this! I love seeing his sweet name!

Here is a picture of the reflection area and Logan's brick is in the bottom right section. Thank you Gary & Sandra for doing this for our sweet boy.

Soccer

The weather was pretty out today so we spent the majority of the day outside. David and a friend of his did a few things outside, so Landon was out there with them playing around while they worked.

I know it makes David so excited to see Landon playing with a soccer ball since he played for so many years.
Hopefully in the next few years we will be cheering on this cute boy while he plays! He looks just like David to me in this picture! David makes this same face when he is being a stinker! Ha!

Silly boy!

We Made It....

Someone is happy that we made it to SPRING BREAK!! He's not the only one, David and I are so thankful for this break every year. We are going to hang out at home the next few days and then head to NM to see David's family later this week. I'm looking forward to getting out of town for a few days with my two favorite boys.I'm pretty sure Landon is dancing to Justin Bieber in this picture. He is liking the song 'Baby' but he argues with me that is says 'David' instead of 'Baby'. So funny!! We caught the ice cream truck this afternoon and we were so excited because we always miss it every time it drives down our street. Landon settled for the 'Frog' ice cream bar after I told him that we was NOT getting the BRATZ ice cream bar that he originally wanted!
I snapped this picture when he was still happy to have his ice cream. I took a bite of his ice cream and he started crying because he said that I got germs on it. It was after that that he decided that my germs on it were just too much for him to handle and he wanted to put it in the freezer. Maybe the freezer will freeze my germs off and he can eat it later! Ha! Silly boy!

Shaving Cream

Just hanging out playing with shaving cream....
I tried to encourage him to write his name or draw a picture, but he thought it was more fun to rub his hands ALL around!

Messy but fun!
"Okay, I'm ready to wash my hands now!"

Kitty House

We have a new member in our family...his name is 'Kitty'! Landon has been referring to himself as 'kitty' for the past few weeks and he calls the ottoman his 'kitty house'. His imagination gets a little out of control at times! Ha!

Davids thoughts....'why of all the countless animals does Landon have to choose to be a kitty??' When I tell Landon something such as, "It's time to get ready bed!" His reply is, "No, this kitty's not sleepy!" Aside from pretending to be a kitty, he still has his imaginary friend, Sashi. He continues to give Sashi a bath in the sink and he likes to bring him into his kitty house.
So thankful to have this sweet little boy in our lives...he provides us with some good entertainment.

Birthday Weekend

Blogging has been on my agenda every night this week after Landon goes to bed, but the bed and kindle have been more appealing...so that's what I went with! :) Last weekend was my birthday and David sure did a good job of making me feel special. On Saturday, he encouraged me to get out of the house and go shopping, get a pedicure, or whatever else sounded good to me...so I did! I ended up going to watch the Justin Bieber movie with a friend and her daughter and it was really good...yes, I just said the Justin Bieber movie was good! You should go see it! I even downloaded some of his songs on to my ipod when I got home! Ha! We did a little shopping after the movie and then came home. When I got home, Landon and David were 'deep' cleaning the house for me. Of course they weren't finished by the time I got home so they had to finish up on Sunday, but it sure was nice not to have to worry about it over the weekend. Saturday night we went to dinner and the TCU basketball game with David's cousin and his wife.

Here is my sweet little guy at the game rootin' for the LOBOS!
Aside from giving me the 'day off', David gave me some new running shoes and gear that I'm loving.
