Birthday Party Fun

We went to a 1st birthday party this weekend for a sweet little boy named, TJ.  The party had a farm theme, complete with a petting zoo.  His mom did an incredible job decorating for the party...I wish I would have taken pictures of all the cute things she created but I always feel awkward taking pictures of other peoples things.  I know I should just get over it, but that's just how I feel. 

 Landon was in love with the animals in the petting zoo.  He fell in love with a particularly sweet little piglet.

 He kept telling it, "I love you, little pig."  He was so gentle and sweet with it.

 I love how he is sitting on the edge of the chair watching the little animals.

 I'm pretty sure that Landon spent more time in the petting zoo than any other child at the party. 

 He held all the other animals, but he kept going back to this little pig.  I started feeling sorry for the little thing after a while.

Birthday Party and Fall Festival

On Saturday, we went to 3rd birthday party for our little friend Luke, and then to a Fall Festival at David's school!  Landon had the best day and he was one tired little guy by the time we made it home that evening.

 Luke's party was at Let's Jump and it is a place of pure bliss if you are a little kid!

 Landon and his sweet friend, Shelby, were never too far apart during the party!  Landon loves Shelby and I can't blame him, she is one of the sweetest little girls.

After the birthday party we headed over to David's school to attend their Fall Festival.

 This 'Rock Monster' kept Landon entertained for the longest time--I think we spent most of our tickets at this booth!  :)  You feed the monster a rock and he shakes and makes noises and then he spits a piece of candy out at you!  Landon thought it was the funniest thing!

 It was so funny watching him and listening to him giggle at this monster!

Tinley is David's principals daughter, and she just turned 2 and is almost as tall as Landon!

Landon had a blast at David's school and he was a super worn out little boy by the time we made it home.  A super busy day makes going to bed for this little boy super easy!  :)

Twister

Landon loves playing board games and he found the game Twister in the closet the other day and wanted to play.

 I never would have picked this game out to play with him, but once we started playing I realized that he was learning 'left' and 'right'.  Yeah!!

I love that he's at an age where we can sit and play games together.  Some of his favorites right now are Go Fish, Hi Ho Cherry-O, Memory, and Connect Four.

Weekend Review

Our weekend had a bit of a crummy start.  Landon came down with a virus that caused him run a fever, lose his appetite, and have no energy.  Poor guy. 

 David stayed home with him on Thursday and took him to the doctor.  The doctor said the virus just had to run its course.  Because Landon was still feeling under the weather, I stayed home with him on Friday.  I was sad to see him not feeling well, but I sure did enjoy the extra snuggle time with him.

 When he wasn't sleeping, he was laying around.

By Saturday he was feeling much better so  I went to Wichita Falls for my friend Cari's baby shower.  Cari and I met in second grade when we were preparing to make our first communions and we've been friends ever since.  She is due with her first baby the day after Thanksgiving!  I can't wait to meet her little boy, Liam.  Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures but I did enjoy getting to visit with lots of girls that I went to high school with.

The Blue Angels were in town this weekend putting on a show at Alliance Airport, and we were really looking forward to going but due to the rain, it was canceled.  We were a little disappointed, but they'll be back next year.  So today turned into a lazy football watching day!

Sweet Boy

Today I was putting some things in the attic and Landon noticed some of his things up there from when he was a baby and wanted to know why they were up there.  I told him that we were saving them just in case he ever has a little brother or sister.  And his reply was, "Mom, one day when I get big like you, I'm going to get a baby in MY tummy."  Ha!

 I gently told him that boys don't get to carry babies in their tummies. 

His reply to that was, "But Mommy, I just want Jesus to give me one because I like babies." 

I just know that if he ever gets the opportunity, he'll be the best big brother with his tender ways.  I pray hard that it will happen one day.

Pumpkin Patch

Nothing says fall like a day at the pumpkin patch.  We spent a big chunk of our Saturday afternoon there and had the best time making memories.  Pumpkins, hayrides, face painting, snow cones, mazes, and jump houses--Landon was in heaven!

 The first thing he wanted to do was pick up a pumpkin.  I'm pretty sure I have a very similar picture from when he was just a year and half.

 It was a pretty warm day at the pumpkin patch and the sun was shining bright, so it was hard to get pictures without lots of squints.

 Time for a hayride! 

Landon had fun on the hayride, but was in no mood for pictures.

 We ran into our sweet friends, Shelby & Bailey, so we took a snow cone break with them.  Landon loves these two little girls.  They are just as pretty on the inside as they are on the outside.

 They had a maze for the little ones to find their way through and Landon loved it so much that he did it at least 5 times!  He later found the maze for the bigger kids and before I knew he ran in it before I could stop him.  When he did, my heart sank because it was so big and adults weren't allowed to go in.  I just knew he was going to get lost and scared or get trampled on.  The sides of it were so tall that I couldn't see where he was and panic started to sink in.  After about 10 minutes of not seeing Landon emerge from the maze, I was on the verge of a melt down.  Finally, he popped out of the hay at the end of the maze with the biggest smile on his face--thank goodness...I could relax!  But not for long, because just seconds after he got out of the maze he jetted back to the entrance and went in again--oh my--this kid really wanted me to have a heart attack!!

Later this week, it is supposed to cool off so it will really feel like fall then!  I can't wait!

Sweet Story

I mentioned in the previous post that I had a sweet story to share about our sign and I want to write it down so I don't forget it.  :)

After the Walk to Remember, I placed Logan's sign by the door in the garage.  When we were outside the next day, a little neighbor friend of Landon's walked into our garage and Landon immediately ran to the sign to show it to his little friend.  He held the sign so proudly and told him that the sign was from Jesus.  He also told him that the angel on the corner was his brother Logan and that Logan was in Heaven.

The way he proudly shared this sign and talked about his brother made my heart melt.  I know Landon doesn't comprehend what happened to Logan, but I know by the way he talked about Logan to his friend that he understands that Logan was a very special little boy.

A Walk to Remember

This weekend we attended our 5th Walk to Remember hosted by MEND.  Over 1,000 people came to remember close to 300 babies in Heaven. 

 This year you could purchase a sign in memory of your child and take it home when the walk was over.  I'm so thankful to permanently have this sign...I love it!

 I have a sweet story to share about this sign...I'll share it in another post later this week.  :)

 We wrote messages to Logan on our balloons, and Landon wanted to write Logan's name on his.

 As the balloons are released, we all sing 'Jesus Loves Me'.  It is so touching and the perfect way to end the ceremony.

 Landon loved watching all the balloons go up.

The ornament that MEND gives each family is always so beautiful.  I love each one and each year they are always so perfect. 

What a blessing MEND has been to our family and all the families that endure the pain of losing a baby.
