Memories

Seriously, what did we do before Pinterest???
I was browsing around on Pinterest the other night and found this idea to use a tote to keep your child's school memories organized.  So neat and super simple to create.
There is a file folder for Preschool all the way to twelfth grade.
His preschool file doesn't just have preschool stuff in it...I put things that he created since he was a toddler in there, including the first time he wrote his name and drew a stick figure.  :)
The labels were already made for each grade level, I just had to print them off and stick them on the folder, and once Landon gets to that particular grade I will glue a school picture beside the label.

Friends

Landon's friend, Luke, came over to play for a little bit the other day.  These two always have such a blast together!  They played trains, pretended monsters were chasing them, pretended they were 'workers', and played with cars.

Landon picked out his own clothes today!  Khaki dress socks, camo shorts, and  a stained up t-shirt! :)
I did make him change when we left the house.
Landon refers to his sunglasses as his 'cool glasses'.
These two boys had so much fun together!

Green Eggs

We've read the book Green Eggs and Ham every night this past week, so I thought it would be fun to have green eggs for breakfast this morning!
They didn't look very good, but they tasted like regular ol' scrambled eggs.
  "I like green eggs!"
He told me he'd eat them with a mouse and in a box!  Ha!
Landon wanted to take a picture of me eating my green eggs, too!

David missed out on our fun breakfast...he was still snoozing!  When I told him what we ate, he said that he wasn't too upset that he missed it.  Ha!

Burrrr....

The weather has been so inconsistent lately. One day it's warm and the next it's blowing frigidly cold north winds. Crazy!
Landon got to have his first cup of hot chocolate and loved it! I think his favorite part was the marshmallows that he got to put in it. Ha!
This boy is just as sweet as his hot chocolate. Love him so much!

Directions

I found Landon like this in his room before one of his soccer games...he was 'reading' his shin guard instructions.  He informed me that the instructions said his shin guards were supposed to have the hard part on the back of the leg just in case you get kicked in the back of the leg.  Ha!  He is so funny!

Playing and Stitches

The weather has been unseasonably warm lately, so we've been taking advantage and playing outside.
Silly boy playing on the trampoline.

This is a  picture of Landon before we had his stitches removed.
We did take him to have his stitches removed the other day and he was so worried on our way to the appointment.  He actually broke into tears when we walked into the clinic, but he did so great once we made it into the patient room.  They removed his 3 little stitches and  he didn't shed one tear.  I was so proud of him!  He has a pink scar...hopefully it will disappear with time.

Celebrate

David's parents came to visit us for Christmas and they were here the day after Christmas, so we celebrated his mom's birthday which is on Christmas day. While they were here we played some pinochle and visited. Fun times!
Landon was being a little turkey and wouldn't pose for a picture!

We took David's mom to The Cheesecake Factory for a birthday lunch since she loves cheesecake! David had the waiters come sing to her and she wasn't too thrilled about being the center of attention, but she was a very good sport about it! :)

We had a nice visit with his parents and Landon is so blessed to have so many grandparents that love him so much.

Christmas

This year for Christmas we opted not to exchange gifts with my family because we went on the cruise as a family instead.
Mom and Dad and the aunts didn't follow directions and got Landon a few gifts, which he got to open before we left for our vacation.

A new 3D DS.  He didn't really know what it was when he opened it, but he is totally in love with it now.  I'm thinking I may have to eventually put some time limits on his playing time because he'd play it all day if I'd let him!
We got back home from our trip on Christmas Eve and Santa fame that night!  Landon was so excited to leave out Oreos and milk.  We even sprinkled reindeer food on the lawn for Santa's reindeer.  So fun!  Christmas morning when Landon came into the living room, his eyes lit up when he noticed that Santa had enjoyed the cookies and milk.  He was also excited to open his big red bag from Santa!
This year for Christmas, Landon had two things on his list...a marble game and a Zhu Zhu pet.

Santa must have thought that he was a good little boy because he brought both of those things!

He has been wanting a marble game for a long time and he was so excited to play with it, however, it came with 49 pages of directions so it took a couple of days for David and I to get it assembled!

Adoring his new Zhu Zhu pet.

We had a wonderful relaxing morning at home before heading off to David's grandma's house for the afternoon.
While we were there I got to hold this little cutie!  Kinley is David's cousins little girl and she is adorable.  I could have held her the entire day, but she was a popular little girl and needed to make her rounds!
We also went to visit Logan's grave site for Christmas.  I made him a floral arrangement to put on his headstone and Landon wanted to carry it.  Such a sweet little brother.
Landon helping me  secure the arrangement on his headstone.
Always remembered.
Forever loved.
Never forgotten.
