Sweet Memories

Landon and I had to run a few errands after school today and he was the biggest chatterbox ever....I loved it!! I love his sweet innocence and how he interprets this world we live in....he seriously keeps me laughing! I wanted to write down some of the things he said tonight because I know I won't remember them otherwise.
As we were driving in the car I told Landon that we needed to go get a car wash.....a few minutes later he noticed a very dirty tractor working in the ditch and he said, "Oh Mommy--that tractor needs a 'tractor wash'!!" Ha!!
As we were out and about he noticed some pink and blue helium balloons and said in the sweetest voice, "Mommy--look, it's Logan!" So sweet--he was referring to the MEND walk and sending balloons to all the babies in Heaven.
We went through the drive-thru at Chick-fil-a for dinner (yes, that's 2 times this week we have been there!) and Landon told me that he loves 'Chick the lay'. Ha! Anytime we go somewhere that has a drive-thru Landon wants his window down too...as I was placing my order through the drive-thru speaker he kept trying to talk over me and place HIS order. And as he was trying to place his order this is a little how his conversation went: "Ummm, I want chicken nuggets and ummm, I want chocolate milk, and ummmm." I must say 'ummmm' a lot when I go through drive-thrus!! :) I'm glad the lady taking our order thought he was cute!!

Landon sneezed tonight and after he did he said, "I blessed you!"

Oh, how this kid seriously is just the best!!!!!! :)

Lazy Weekend

We've had two lazy weekends in a row...it's actually been kind of nice after the hustle and bustle of the holidays. Friday night we got together with a couple of neighbors for pizza....the kids ran around and played and the adults did lots of talking...fun times!!
On Saturday, we didn't do much, other than LOTS of laundry! The laundry seems to pile up so much faster in the winter?!!? We did sneak out of the house to go through the drive-thru of Chick-fil-a and bring it home for dinner. Landon loves their nuggets....he ate all of his and then half of mine!!
Today, we got up and went to church, ran to Target for a few items, and then picked up lunch. After lunch we lounged around, played a few games, made some cookies, and didn't do much of anything else.

Next weekend will not be so relaxed and I'm okay with that because we are having Landon's birthday party on Saturday and going to the rodeo on Sunday!! Should be a FUN weekend!!

Cute Stuff...

Landon definitely keeps us laughing around here and this post is so that I won't forget some of the things he says and does.
First of all, don't you just love this cute hat?!? A very sweet and talented girl that I work with made him a couple of cute little hats with his name monogrammed on them and I just love them. She is also making his shirt for his 3rd birthday and I can't wait to see it!
Tonight we had brussels sprouts with dinner and I put a couple on Landon's plate and told him to eat them and I said, "They're good for you!" He picked one up with the tips of his fingers as if it was the most disgusting thing he had ever seen and he licked the edge of it and said, "Oh, these aren't good for me," and then he put it back on his plate! Ha! I cracked up laughing!
Landon has been potty trained on #1 since July, however, he struggles to master going #2 in the potty and I don't know how to break him of this. I've tried everything to no avail, so I'm just telling myself he will do it when he is ready...sigh. Anyways, he had a #2 accident in his pants (which he knows is wrong) and I knelt down to look at him with a sad face and when I did, he hugged me and said, "Mommy, I'm sorry" in the most sweet voice while patting my back. How do I get mad when he's just so sweet?!?
My dad introduced Landon to M&M's and when he did he told Landon that all the blue M&M's were 'grandpa's'. So now when Landon eats them he sets all the blue ones aside for grandpa (even if he's not here), however, this time he just couldn't wait to give them to grandpa and ended up eating them all! Ha! Don't you just love that blue smile?!?

Running

Running has always been something that I have enjoyed doing as it clears my mind, makes me sleep better, and it's a very inexpensive way to stay healthy. However, I've never been consistent with it, I will go for several months and really be on top of it and then I don't run again for several more months. So here starts my cycle again...I'm back on!! I really wanted to participate in the Cowtown in February and run a half marathon, but I just don't have enough time between now and then to get the training in that I need. I ran my first 10k last year at the Cowtown and I loved it and how it made me feel when I was done, so I'm hoping that I can complete a half marathon this year (fingers crossed)!!! As I try to reach my goal, there are a few running items that I have my eyes on....
Vibram Five Finger Shoes--how awesome are these?!?! I am very picky about my running shoes--I like them to be very light and not make my foot feel like it's in a confined space. I've never tried a pair of these on but I sure would like to. I love the idea of running barefoot, but I'm afraid that I would step on something sharp so I think these shoes would give you that barefoot feeling while protecting your feet at the same time. Definitely want to try some of these on before making such a pricing purchase!

And I have just decided that I definitely need one of these spi belts--a place to put my keys during a run/race. Last year when David and I ran the 10k I actually carried my car key in my hand and it was so annoying! David had a pocket in his shorts but I was afraid it would fall out as he was running, so I carried it.

Let the running begin!!

Germs

Landon loves brushing his teeth and he never fails to tell me, "Mommy, I need to brush my teeth--they have GERMS--ewwwwwww!!"
One happy boy getting rid of all those germs!

I'm glad that brushing his teeth makes him smile this big because it was once a battle to brush his teeth.

SNOW SNOW!!

That's right, we had our first snow of the year today!
When it first started snowing the flakes were SO big and fluffy, and it was just beautiful coming down. Landon seemed a little worried as he watched the snow fall and he said several times, "Oh no, my slide is getting dirty! How are we going to clean it?" He wanted dad to go out and mow the snow away! Ha!! Such a silly boy!
Some of the snow had already melted by the time I snapped these pics.
We opted for a warm snug day inside and played Wii games. I'm glad we decided to go to church last night because getting out in the cold wet weather this morning would have been no fun at all! The boys took a nap today and I decided to go for a run, yes--in the snow--I'm crazy!! It wasn't a bad run at first, it actually felt pretty good until I turned a corner and I was running against the VERY windy north winds. I'm pretty sure my legs are wind burnt, I just haven't looked yet. :/ I've started running again, but I'll post more on that later!

Before I go, here are some cute pics of the little guy....

Happy Boy

Someone was ready to go see Ms. Shawn this morning!! How wonderful is it that he loves going to the sitters house while I'm at work?!?! It sure makes my day so much easier knowing that he is happy and loved while I'm away. Looks like he is waving at me as to say, "Bye Mom!"

First Post of the NEW YEAR!!

Oh, how I love new beginnings! A new year....2011!! I can't wait to see what is in store for our family this year. 2010 was a great year as we watched Landon go from a toddler to a VERY curious little boy that wants to know how everything in this world works!
This year:
Landon will turn 3
David will turn 36 (on the closer end to 40!!--no worries David, you are still young!)
I will turn 31 (oh my!--I remember when my mom was 31 and I thought she was OLD!)
David and I will celebrate our 10 year anniversary
I will enter my 9th year of teaching
We will be taking a trip to the Rocky Mountains
David and I are going on our 2nd cruise and Landon will go on his 1st cruise
Lots of fun things to look forward to this year!
We went to my aunt's house for New Years Eve and we got to see lots of family! We left before midnight because we wanted to get home safely before all the crazies were out on the roads driving. We made it home in time to watch the ball drop on TV, at least David and I did...little man was fast asleep in his bed!I tried to get a good picture of Landon with my mom, but he wasn't loving the camera much that night!
This was one of the best pictures that I got of them two! This silly boy definitely keeps me on my toes!

Happy New Year!
