Octopus Stew

Yep, that's right...octopus stew for lunch!!
First we started with a hotdog and used clean scissors to cut 8 legs! Landon "added" a little seasoning.

Then we threw the "octopus" in a pot of boiling water. When you do this it makes the legs curl up.
And viola...you have a yummy octopus!
Nothing like octopus and macaroni and cheese.Landon found it amusing to twist his octopus and watch the legs spin around. He thought the legs were super yummy...he kept saying, "mmmmmm".
"Oh come on, you know you want some!"

Snow and Bath Fun

When it snowed so much last week, some of the neighbors helped each other out by shoveling the snow off of the driveways and sidewalks. They used shovels and brooms. Landon tried to contribute his share of work using his shovel!! Believe it or not, but we still have snow on the ground from last week...crazy! The snow is mostly in the shady areas, but it is still here.
Landon has been loving bath time lately. I found these colored bath tablets that you drop in the water that turn the water different colors. Tonight he chose a "red" bath.
He originally wanted yellow bath water, but that one disturbs me a bit.
When you ask Landon what his favorite color is he says, "lellow".
Oh how this sweet face melts my heart!

Now if only brushing teeth was as easy as taking a bath! His idea of brushing his teeth is sucking the toothpaste off the toothbrush, so I always go back over them and he does not like it one bit!!

March for Babies...

Our family will be participating in the March for Babies in April. This will be our fourth year to participate. This is something that we LOVE doing as a family each year. We get to support a great cause, and it allows us to keep Logan's memory alive.
While I was on bedrest with Landon, I received weekly shots of progesterone to prevent pre-term labor. March of Dimes funded research that proved that progesterone shots do help prevent pre-term labor. This research may have played a part in the fact that we have Landon here and healthy. We have finished in the top 15 teams in Fort Worth in previous years, and I hope that this year is no different.

If you would like to consider supporting this organization please click HERE to see our personal page. If financial support is not something you can do, please consider joining our team and walking for babies with us. We will even make you a shirt complete with Logan's picture!! These walks take place all over the United States. We will be walking on April 17th in Fort Worth, come join us!!

Thank you to everyone that supported us last year! Thank you for giving hope to the families of babies born too soon or sick.

Winter Wonderland

It snowed for almost 24 hours straight! Big, beautiful, puffy snowflakes. I have never seen snow like this in Texas before...it is just gorgeous outside this morning. The weather man said that this snow is a record snowfall here in north Texas. We have 13 inches of snow here, and the snow drifts along the fence are probably waist deep. Landon stood out in the snow for a bit, and let me take a few pictures. He isn't a big fan of the snow, so he mostly just looked around in awe.

Looks like we will be stuck inside for a while, and I'm totally good with that.

My Little Texan

Landon sounds like a true Texan when he says certain words. It totally cracks us up! I took this video because I love the way he says, "all gone"...so country sounding. And when he says, "more" it sounds like "moe". I love watching his eyes blink in this video, he knows he is being filmed, and he couldn't wait to watch it when we were done. Please ignore my annoying voice, I hate the way I sound on video, but doesn't everyone?

Landon's Birthday Weekend

On Landon's actual birthday we took him to Cici's for dinner since pizza is one of his favorite meals. When we came home the 3 of us had cake and ice cream.
I think we ended up singing "Happy Birthday" at least 5 times because Landon loved blowing out the candles. This kid is seriously so much fun!Mom, Dad, Aunt Char, and Aunt Brit came in for the weekend to celebrate Landon's birthday. I'm so glad they came. Landon was just so happy the whole time they were here...I think he loves all the attention he gets. Grandma and Grandpa with the birthday boy.
I love this happy face--you can just see all the joy in his face...I love it!
Landon got his first set of underwear for his birthday! They have Sesame Street characters on them, and he just looks so stinkin' cute in them. He even modeled them for all of us, and it was just too funny watching him prance around in them.
We all loaded up and headed to Chuck-E-Cheese. It was Landon's first time there, and it was crowded and a bit crazy. But is was fun!

Landon is so lucky to have so many people in his life that love him. I think he had a pretty great 2nd birthday!

Happy 2nd Birthday, Landon!!

My little boy is 2 today! We have been celebrating all week long. Landon knows that when we talk about his birthday that it is something really fun and he usually yells, "YAY"! I love the way he says "two" when you ask him how old he is going to be...it sounds so sweet.
This boy fills my heart with so much happiness.
This day 2 years ago was one of the best days of our lives.
I hope that I make this little guy feel special everyday, but I want to really make his birthday feel like a super special day every year.

Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Char, and Aunt Brit are coming in this weekend to help us celebrate. That must be why Landon has such a big smile on his face!!

Bath Time...

I have been playing with photoshop lately, and trying to figure out how to get awesome looking pictures. I have SO much to learn!! In these 3 pictures I "tried" to make Landon's eyes really stand out, however I'm not sure I needed photoshop for that one--with eyelashes like his they already stand out.

Not sure why I have a dark line on top of this photo or on the side of the photo below...see what I mean--still so much to learn! Ha!

Oh, and I used my flash--I hear that is a big no no, too! I really admire the people out there that can take beautiful photos and make them even more beautiful through photoshop.
