Redskin Fans

If you are a friend of David's on facebook you know that he is a die-hard Washington Redskin fan, and just like most Redskin fans, he despises the Dallas Cowboys!!

Last Sunday, David took Landon with him to a pre-party for the Redskins at a local restaurant...yes, there are other Washington fans here in Dallas/Fort Worth!  Ha!
Landon was so excited to get to go with David and I'm pretty sure that David was equally excited.  I know he can't wait to be able to take Landon to more sporting events as he gets older.

 Such a cutie!
I know this picture is inappropriate, but isn't it so typical of a male?!?!  Ha!
 Cheese!
Two happy boys!

David did get to go watch the game Monday night at Cowboy Stadium where the Cowboys beat the Redskins.  Let's just say that he wasn't the happiest of campers on Tuesday.  ;)

Soccer Balls

The other morning I was getting ready for work and into my closet walked this little cutie.  He was supposed to be getting ready himself, but decided to take a little drawing break!
"Look, mom!  I made a soccer ball!"
I'm glad he likes soccer balls because we are going to sign him up to play indoor soccer this winter.  So fun!

Run in the Dark

We participated in Run in the Dark this past weekend, which is a 5K/1-mile Fun Run that supports our local Community Storehouse.  We decided this year to forego the stroller and run the Fun Run as a family.

Landon was so excited to get to run that he practiced running through the house before we left for the event. He also told us that he had all of his energy saved up in his stomach!  Ha!
 Go Landon go!
He did so great!  We were prepared to carry him for part of the run, but Landon ended up running the entire thing...well almost the entire thing.  He did take one small walking break and told us that he was tired, but he quickly found some more energy.
 Post race.
He did such a great job.
He's hanging on to his glow in the dark bracelet that he received when he crossed the finish line.
So proud of my little runner!
He's such a sweet little thing--he wanted to take a picture of David and me after the race.  I think he did a pretty good job!

I hope that he ends up enjoying running in the years to come.  It would be so much fun to participate in running events together.  :)

MSU

On Saturday, we went to watch our alma mater play football at the Cowboy Stadium.  I'm not much of a fan of football, but I hadn't seen the stadium yet so I went with Landon and David to check it out!

Landon cheering on MSU!!  Go Mustangs!!
Like I said, I'm not a big fan of football, but I have to admit that I enjoyed watching the game at the stadium.  The screen hanging above the field is ginormous and I watched most of the plays up there because you could see each play up close and personal.  Pretty cool!  I bet concerts are amazing there--now I'm wishing I would have gone to see George Strait when he was there!  :)
After half time, Landon was over watching the game so I gave him my camera and let him take a few pictures to keep him occupied.  Here's his picture of David who is doing some serious game watching.
 Landon's picture of me.
Here's his self portrait!  Hello eyelashes!

Midwestern won the game against Texas A&M Commerce in a 63-17 blowout!
Go Mustangs!

Sticky Notes

Landon has been interested in sticky notes and labeling everything.  He labeled the seats in the living room the other day and wrote the first letter of the person's name whom he wanted to sit there.
These two seats were reserved for Grandpa and Aunt Char.
I had to take a picture of my cute little guy sitting in his assigned spot!  He's so funny!  (His legs look so long in this picture)
I love this sweet boy!  He is at such a fun stage and he definitely keeps us laughing around here.  We are so lucky!

I also want to record something that Landon said the other day that took me by surprise.  You never know what he's going to say.  :)
He made a bad choice and I was getting on to him and using a very firm voice with him which made him cry.  Through his tears he cried, "I just want to move out and go live outside with the snakes and spiders and bees."  Poor little guy he has it so rough.  Ha!

Yummy Cake and Pumpkins

I'm addicted to chocolate chip pound cake!  I found the recipe on a blog a few months back and I make it way too often!  Maybe that's where the extra few pounds came from this summer!
Landon loves the cake too, but his favorite part of it is licking the bowl clean.
 Mmmm....lip smackin' good!
 :)
 Love that cheesy grin.
I found a website full of fun activities for pre-school age children and we did one of the activities the other day.  Landon had the best time gluing pumpkins seeds on the pumpkins and then finding their matches after we made them into puzzles.  He didn't want me to take his picture so that's why there is such a pitiful look on his face.  Ha!

Labor Day Weekend

We've had a pretty good little weekend around here and what makes it even better is that we have today off as well.  Love 3 day weekends...I wish every weekend was a 3 day weekend!
This silly boy was such a mess before we left for church so I had to snap a few pics of his silliness.
 Silly.
Landon was in no mood for pictures.
 Sweet sweet boy!

After church we went to a friends house for swimming and a cookout.  Such a fun way to officially wrap up the summer.
Landon had an absolute blast in the pool.
David threw Landon's friend, Luke, into the pool and he loved it!!
Landon hanging out with his little friends.
Landon kept jumping off the diving rock and sometimes he would just stand there with his noodle, so it looked like he was fishing.
Fun times!

A refreshing cold front has made its way to our area and we are going to enjoy it today.  I think a trip to the park, a walk, and a bike ride are in store for today!

Hello Fall!

Bloggy Break

It's been 2 weeks since my last post....yikes!  With two teachers living under the same roof there isn't much time for anything else this time of year, however now that we are three weeks into our working routine hopefully the blog won't be pushed to the back burner any longer.

I didn't take many pictures these past couple of weeks, so this post will be short and sweet.
I will be better.  I will be better.

Whatever it takes to get the job done, right?
