One Blessed Mommy

I often wonder how I got so lucky to be Landon's mom. I love him more than life itself and he has every little piece of my heart. When he hurts, I hurt. When he is happy, I'm happy. Sometimes I just stare at him and think to myself, "wow, he is MY little boy". It is amazing watching him grow into a little boy. All the silly faces, big hugs, cute words he says, and his curious personality just melt my heart...everything about him melts my heart. Sometimes I think about what he might be like when he is in high school and I hope that we are able to raise him to be a confident, polite, respectful, caring, giving, and Christian man...oh and I hope that he won't be embarassed to hug me in front of his friends. Ha! Thank you God for this amazing little boy that you have blessed our lives with.

We all know that Landon loves to wash and clean things, so tonight little man helped me wash my car. I figured that he would help for a minute then go off and play, but nope--he helped me the whole time. I hope this cleaning phase lasts for a very long time!! Ha!

Remember these?

Just as Landon and I finished washing the car, an ice cream truck came singing down our street. I clearly remember these when I was growing up--as soon as I heard the music in the distance I would run and go get my piggy bank. Landon picked out a red, white, and blue striped popsicle, yum yum!

It's going to be a busy week here in the Brewer house since this is the first week that the kiddos come back to school, but I will try my hardest to post. Have a great week!

Dorothy

A couple of weeks ago we got a fish for Landon and we named her Dorothy. Landon loves Elmo and Elmo has a fish named Dorothy, so we thought the name was appropriate. Randomly throughout the day Landon will walk by Dorothy, whose home is located on our bar, and wave and tell her "hi". It is so darn cute!!

First Official Day

Today was David and I's first official day back to work after a very fun-filled summer. Such a bittersweet moment, it is so sad leaving the relaxing days of summer, but at the same time I can't wait to meet my new students and get back into a routine. There is such a sense of excitement that comes with the beginning of a new school year. So, in teacher terms, "HAPPY NEW YEAR!"
Landon got his first busted lip yesterday (you can see it in the pics). He was climbing up playground equipment and lost his footing, then hit his mouth. He is handling it like a trooper--he acts like it is not even there. I have to admit that I am going to miss his sweet face everyday while I am at work. I see lots of snuggling and hugs in store for this weekend with the little guy. Today his teacher told me that while they were on the playground Landon caught a 2 inch long grasshopper. Such a boy!!This is our attempt at a self portrait before we headed out the door this morning. We tried to make sad faces since summer is over, but we kept laughing.

Fun Stuff...

My teacher friend, Cyndee, is expecting a baby boy in October. I am so so happy for her, as she and her husband prayed for a very long time for this little miracle. Her sisters had a baby shower for her today, so my friend Jennifer and I went to celebrate this little boys future arrival.

While I was at the baby shower, David and Landon had a birthday party to go to. Fun stuff!

Little Road Trip

We decided to pack up for the day and go visit David's grandmother in "W". Landon and I haven't seen her all summer, and since this is the last official weekend of summer for us, we really needed to go. She is always so sweet to us and she is a wonderful hostess. You would never know that she is in her 80's by the way she gets around and takes care of everyone. She made a wonderful roast for lunch that we truly enjoyed!
It is so hard to get a picture of Landon sitting still. You can tell in this picture that he has one leg lowered in an attempt to make a quick escape...which he did! Ha!

Great Grandma showed Landon how to use a fingernail file, so he "filed" everyones nails.
What a great day we had visiting with Grandma.
*Update*
I blogged last Monday about Landon's great day at school. Well, the rest of the week was the same. When I would pick him up he would give me a look as if to say, "What, you are already here?" I am so happy that he is enjoying it there.
