Hot Summer Days

We had a "stay at home day" today and it was so nice. We played games, read books, colored, and cleaned. We practiced using the potty a whole lot, too! Landon continues to do well...he only had one accident today! I'm so proud of him!
This face cracks me up! Landon is eating a banana or a "mana" as he calls them. We did go outside early this morning to play for a little bit before it got too hot! The high today in Fort Worth was 108!! That is so crazy to me!!
These hot temperatures are making me ready for some crisp fall air and some yummy smelling autumn scented candles.

Tonight, as I was making Landon and I a bowl of ice cream I told him that he was my favorite boy and that daddy was my favorite boy too. Landon's reply, "No, daddy's stinky!" Ha! The things he says cracks us up!! I had to call David to tell him and he thought it was so funny!

Potty Time

So we are officially on day 2 of potty training!! Landon has only had 2 accidents and they were both this morning. I set a timer for 20 minutes and when he hears the timer go off he runs to the bathroom and says, "POTTY TIME!"Here is Landon getting some praises from daddy. Don't you just love the shirt tucked into his underwear!!

Potty training has been something that I have been so nervous about because everyone says that boys are so hard to train, but honestly it hasn't been bad at all. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the next few days go as smoothly as the last two have. I'm so proud of my big boy!!

The Bachelorette

The Bachelorette/Bachelor is pretty much the only show that I watch. Each week when it comes on my best friend Tandy and I text each other throughout the show with our opinions...it's so fun! David thinks we are crazy! Ha!My friend, Audra, had a Bachelorette Season Finale watching at her house so these two sweet boys stayed home for a "guys night" while I went to watch the show. It's much more fun to watch the show with a group of girls...we had a great time!

I really don't think Ali could have went wrong with either guy, they were both a good catch!

While I was away this cute little guy got into some mischief! Yep, hard to believe this sweet little guy could do something wrong, right? Well....it all started when David was on the phone with his grandmother...Landon was playing with his light saber and knocked over a Scentsy warmer. Warm wax was flowing everywhere!! So, as David is cleaning up the wax, Landon is still playing with his light saber and gets tangled up in the dining room curtains and pulls them off the wall! Poor David. Landon did both of these things on accident, but they were both pains to fix. David said he spent the entire evening cleaning up wax and fixing curtains! Hopefully, he won't cringe the next time I need to leave the house alone. Ha!

Random Stuff

Wow!! I can't believe it has been close to 2 weeks since my last post! This past week has been so busy. Nothing too exciting going on...just regular summer fun...little gym, pool time, and lots of playing. We got home from NM last Saturday and today has been the first time I took my camera out since our trip. I know Landon has NEVER gone that long without a camera in his face, he probably appreciated the little picture break! Ha!
We have spent the past two days swimming at the pool with friends and we are just worn out. Landon went to bed super early tonight. Last night we got a sitter and went to a wine bar with some friends. It was so fun! It was a much needed kid-free night!

Landon has been eating black olives like crazy lately! He LOVES them!! I really have to limit him because he would probably eat the whole jar in one sitting...he loves them that much!

Tonight he was eating them and put them on the tips of his fingers and pretended they were his fingernails! So silly!

I can't believe that our summer break is coming to an end soon! Time seems to fly by when you have kids. I have LOVED spending ALL of my time with Landon. We made lots of special memories as a family this summer! I'm really going to miss summer once school starts, but I am beginning to get the itch to get back into a routine.

Hopefully, I will be a better blogger this week and post lots of pictures of my sweet boy!

New Mexico

We have spent the past several days in NM visiting David's parents and helping paint the inside of their house. Aside from painting we have been enjoying some yummy Mexican food and we couldn't resist a trip up to the top of the Sandia Mountains.

We picked up some KFC and headed to the mountains for a picnic and Landon's first hike.

After eating his chicken, Landon ate some chocolate pudding and became so silly!!

Here we are before our hike.

The trail we followed had a little stream along it, and Landon just had to touch the COLD water!
Landon is so afraid of Dandelions!! Several weeks ago a part of a Dandelion flew in his face and scared him, so ever since he is SO afraid of them! Ha! Well, I found a Dandelion on our hike and I literally had to force Landon to stand near me. He wanted nothing to do with the flower and he kept saying, "Mommy, put it down!!!!!"
Landon cruising along on his hike.
After our picnic and hike we went to the top of the mountain to enjoy the view. Here is Landon standing with Grandma and Grandpa at the top.
Landon and Grandma taking a break! Landon was one tuckered out little guy.

Port Aransas

We spent a few days in Port Aransas last week. It was Landon's first trip to the beach and he loved it! Be ready for picture overload (I took close to 400 pictures while we were there)!! Ha!
Landon hanging out on our balcony as soon as we got in our room! Landon loved looking over the balcony, and it made David so nervous as he has a fear of heights.
Landon loved the waves! David and I had to take turns because we were wearing out from all the wave pounding!
There was a lot of sea weed due to the recent storm. Landon did not like it at first and he tried to clean it up. Here he is moving the sea weed!

He didn't like the sea weed touching his legs either, so he would spread his legs far apart so that the sea weed could go between. Building sandcastles.

David made the mistake of feeding the birds!! They would not leave us alone! Finally, Landon got up and chased them away!

One evening we drove around on the beach and saw this camper. It was so cute...fake palm trees, colorful chairs, and just so quaint. You can't go to Port A without taking a picture in the sharks mouth!!
Landon tried on women's flip flops for the longest time in one of the shops! I think these red ones were his fav! Ha!

We hung out at the pool for a bit. Landon has been doing such a great job swimming lately. He doesn't want any help from us, and he gets around to wherever he wants to go.
We got up one morning and went down to the beach for some family pics! A very nice man took the pictures of all three of us.

We had such a great time and can't wait to get back to the beach!

4th of July

We have been out of town since the 4th of July, which is the reason for my lack of posts lately.
Our neighborhood had a bike parade through our subdivision. Families decorated bikes, strollers, wagons, and razors to form a parade. David took Landon, and as soon as the parade started it began raining! The parade went on, but everyone was SOAKED!! Fortunately, Landon's ride had a cover on it, so he stayed dry! After the parade we had a cul-de-sac party on our street. Kids were running around having a good time, and adults sat and chatted. Our neighborhood put on a great fireworks show at the end of the night. This is Landon and Luke ready for the show to start.

The next day we headed out to the country for some more celebrating.

Grandmother, Mom, and Aunt Mary

Landon got to ride an ATV for the first time. He was a little apprehensive, but he did a great job once he figured it out.
We celebrated one of my cousins birthdays with a pinata. Landon took a few swings at it.
Aunt Britt and Landon
Aunt Char was a sport and let Landon put cupcake icing on her face. When he finished she demanded a kiss in which he obliged.
Grandpa gave Landon his first Root Beer!! Mom told me that grandparents are supposed to do those kinds of things! Ha! Landon was one WiLd man after all that sugar. I'm pretty sure we will save all sugary drinks for special occasions! :)
Sparkler fun!

After all the 4th of July festivities we headed to Port A for a little family vacation. I will be posting about our trip within the next few days!
