Busy Weekend, Lots of Family & Lots of Fun!!

We had a super busy and fun weekend! Landon met lots of Brewer cousins, aunts, and uncles for the first time! Despite the busy schedule he was happy and content the majority of the time. We went to Sean & Ariana's rehearsal dinner Friday night and had a fabulous dinner! Saturday was filled with spending time with family at the hotel before the evening wedding. Landon got to go swimming with all of his cousins--I think he had a great time. After all the excitement he was exhausted to say the least. Aunt Charley was waiting at the house for Landon--she was our wonderful babysitter for the night! Landon says, "Thank you Aunt Char for coming to take care of me while mom & dad went to the wedding--you're the best!" The wedding was absolutely beautiful and it was nice to have a "baby free" night out.

I love this picture! It looks like he is saying, "I'm gonna get you!".

Carrots, carrots, and more carrots!!

This is what you get after putting your fist in your mouth then rubbing your face! He had carrots in his eyes, ears, and nose. I guess he going to have to start eating in just his diaper! :)

Sitting Up!!

Landon is doing a great job of sitting up. He will sit up for a few seconds then either fall to the side or forward. He is also rolling from front to back with no problems. I'm sure he will be "rolling" himself all around the house before long--I really need to start "baby proofing"!! He is still loving his carrots and we are going to try sweet potatoes again. This time I will cook them before I puree them (no wonder Landon didn't like them the first time--I don't think I would like an uncooked sweet potato either!)

Hanging on to my hand while he gets his balance.

Such a big boy!
"Hurry up Mom and take the picture while I am looking."
He fell over sideways, then rolled on to his back. This picture completely reminds me of myself when I was a baby!
Here is Landon working on rolling over.

"Is that me?"

Burnt Carrots!!

We have become very close with all the neighbors here and every couple of weeks we get together and cook-out. He are Landon and Dad swimming in our neighbors pool. Landon does not like it at first because it is cold, but after a few seconds he is great! He is really content in the pool.
Such a cutie--I just want to squeeze him!!
I bought him some really cute swim trunks from Old Navy--I will take a picture of him wearing them the next time we go to the pool!
This is how I found Landon after his nap. I could hear him on the monitor talking and cooing (oh, so cute), so I went in there and he was having a little party by himself in his crib!!
Yes, this is BURNT CARROTS!! I was watching the news a few weeks ago and they were discussing the benefits of making your own baby food--1) It is cheaper. 2) It is healthier. 3) It is easy.
Cheap, easy, and healthy--just what you want with a baby. So, anyway I thought I would "steam" some carrots in the microwave, then puree them. Well, this is what I got--not so good!! The burnt carrots made the house smell terrible, this is how I make steamed squash--how come it didn't work with carrots?!?! In the end, I steamed some carrots in a pot (the correct way, I guess), then pureed them and Landon LOVED them!! He would fuss in between bites because I wasn't givin them to him fast enough!! I wonder if this was a preview of what his appetite will be like in the future?!
Landon looking at Dad while eating his carrots!!
YUM--YUM!!
Landon playing with his book while mommy cleans up the kitchen and the burnt carrots!! He is such a good boy!

Giving it a try!!

Well, I thought I would try this whole blog thing out!! Not because anyone cares what goes on in my life, but Landon is a pretty popular little guy. There are some that would appreciate pics and updates on him, so this blog will be mostly about him and all his adventures. I am hoping that with my time off this summer I will be able to keep this updated.
