MEND

On Saturday, we attended a remembrance ceremony that was hosted by MEND (Mothers Enduring Neonatal Death). We go every year in memory of Logan, it is one of our ways of keeping his memory alive. This is the third year that we have been and each year it is just so touching and peaceful. It has almost been three years since Logan went to Heaven. I miss Logan very much, but the memories that I have of him are so sweet. I sometimes still cry when I think of him and I often wonder what he would be like if he were still here with us. I always think that as each year passes it will get easier--and it does, but each year as the holidays approach my heart does get a little heavier. The loss of Logan has made me appreciate life more and I do not take one second with Landon for granted. Even the simplest things make me smile...seeing Landon in my rear view mirror as he sits in his car seat brings me so much joy. Shortly after losing Logan, I remember driving in my car feeling as if something was missing...I would look in my rear view mirror hoping to see Logan in a car seat only to see nothing but an empty seat. Logan never rode in my car, but this weighed so heavily on me. We are so blessed to have more than this life here on earth--I can't wait until we are all together.
The ceremony takes place outside the church on a hill and in the church foyer tables are set up for families to display mementos of their lost babies. This year we brought Logan's picture and his memory book.During the ceremony a storm started to blow in and it started raining, so the ceremony was completed inside the church. This kid is just so darn cute!!

Fortunately the storm blew over and we were still able to do the balloon release. There were so many balloons--look at all the blue ones--there must be lots of little boys in Heaven for Logan to play with.

Landon and I getting ready to release our balloons.

These are the 2 balloons from Landon and I going up to Logan. Daddy was busy handing out balloons to the families, so his went up a little later than ours.

Cake Balls

I found a recipe for Cake Balls on one of my favorite blogs, Kelly's Korner. They looked so easy and yummy that I thought I would make them. Yeah, well something didn't go completely right. You can see the recipe and what they were suppossed to look like by clicking HERE. Here is how mine turned out:

The more I made the worse they got. They do not look very pretty, but they really did taste good! The flavor turned out right, but my presentation was ALL wrong! :(
This is where it all went wrong.

The cake mixed with icing turned out right. I am going to make these again because they really are good. Hopefully next time it will work!

Happy 1st Birthday Miss Harley

My very best friends daughter, Harley, turned 1 this past week and she had a birthday party on Saturday. It is so hard to believe that Harley is already 1. I remember as I was walking through Target during my last week of pregnancy with Landon I got a phone call from Tandy telling me that she was pregnant. I was so happy for her that I wanted to scream right in the middle of the store (but I didn't). We always said that we wanted to be pregnant together, so that we could compare our pregnancies and our kids would be the same age. Much to our dismay we both learned the hard way that pregnancy isn't something that just happens when you want it to. But we were pregnant for 1 whole week together! I'm so glad that Landon and Harley are close in age--I see lots of fun outings in the future!
At the party there were lots of little kids running around that were close to Landon's age, so it was fun watching him play with everyone. There were toys everywhere and there were 2 mini-bounce houses...so much fun!! Little miss Harley is a big eater and she loved her birthday cake, unfortunately I didn't get a picture of her devouring it. :(

Landon loved the bounce house!!

My bouncing boy--what would I do without him?!?! He adds so much joy and happiness to our family!

"Yeah, it's Friday!!" We plan on sleeping in on Saturday, that is unless little man has other plans!

Spiders

I confiscated this plastic spider from an unlucky 5 year old today, so when I got home I put it on the floor to see Landon's reaction. When he sees bugs he usually says, "uh-oh" or "owie". It took him a while before he figured out that it wasn't real, and once he did figure out that it wasn't real he wanted to carry it every where. It even sat on his tray while he ate dinner! Silly boy!!

Landon is still "practicing" how to jump! Typically I do not let him play with the tray from his high chair, but he was having so much fun I just didn't have the heart to take it away.
