The more I made the worse they got. They do not look very pretty, but they really did taste good! The flavor turned out right, but my presentation was ALL wrong! :(This is where it all went wrong.
The cake mixed with icing turned out right. I am going to make these again because they really are good. Hopefully next time it will work!

Cake Balls
I found a recipe for Cake Balls on one of my favorite blogs, Kelly's Korner. They looked so easy and yummy that I thought I would make them. Yeah, well something didn't go completely right. You can see the recipe and what they were suppossed to look like by clicking HERE. Here is how mine turned out:

Happy 1st Birthday Miss Harley
My very best friends daughter, Harley, turned 1 this past week and she had a birthday party on Saturday. It is so hard to believe that Harley is already 1. I remember as I was walking through Target during my last week of pregnancy with Landon I got a phone call from Tandy telling me that she was pregnant. I was so happy for her that I wanted to scream right in the middle of the store (but I didn't). We always said that we wanted to be pregnant together, so that we could compare our pregnancies and our kids would be the same age. Much to our dismay we both learned the hard way that pregnancy isn't something that just happens when you want it to. But we were pregnant for 1 whole week together! I'm so glad that Landon and Harley are close in age--I see lots of fun outings in the future!
At the party there were lots of little kids running around that were close to Landon's age, so it was fun watching him play with everyone. There were toys everywhere and there were 2 mini-bounce houses...so much fun!! Little miss Harley is a big eater and she loved her birthday cake, unfortunately I didn't get a picture of her devouring it. :(

Spiders
I confiscated this plastic spider from an unlucky 5 year old today, so when I got home I put it on the floor to see Landon's reaction. When he sees bugs he usually says, "uh-oh" or "owie". It took him a while before he figured out that it wasn't real, and once he did figure out that it wasn't real he wanted to carry it every where. It even sat on his tray while he ate dinner! Silly boy!!

Run in the Dark
What a great family night full of running/walking, live music, and a good cause. We participated in Run in the Dark, David, Landon, and I ran the 1 mile fun run together...well sort of--David pushed Landon in the stroller and they left me behind and beat me, I finished just a few seconds after them...grrr! I wanted to beat them!! After the fun run, David decided to run in the 5K too (I bet he will be hurting tomorrow!). Both of our schools put teams together because the run supports students in our schools. It really was a fun night. While David ran the 5K, Landon and I sat and listened to some live music and enjoyed some flavored icees.
