Playing Catch Up

I have been such a bad blogger since school started, but I am hoping that changes soon! Today was the very first time this school year that I didn't bring something home to work on....woo hoo!! The school year is going fantastic, however, I'm worn OUT by 7pm.

We had a fantastic weekend! We got lots of rest in, and mostly stayed home and enjoyed each other.

Last weekend we participated in Run In The Dark, which is an event that supports our local Community Storehouse. Each year our school district encourages us to participate, so there were several co-workers from both our schools.
Here we are with David's principal, wife, and daughter. We took this same picture last year, too!
David ran in the one mile fun run with Landon, and here they are just about to cross the finish line. The 5K race was after the one mile fun run, and David ran with Landon in that one, too!
Landon and Dad after the fun run! Landon was proud of the bracelet he received when they crossed the finish line.

Some of my co-workers and I after the 5K race. It was so hot and humid during the race, and I don't think I have ever been so sweaty in my entire life!! We were one stinky mess by the time we made it home!!

Binoculars

Look at these cute binoculars that Landon made at Ms. LaShawns house!! They were made out of two toilet paper rolls and decorated with scrapbook paper...now that is one thrifty toy!!
He was cracking me up with them!
He wanted to look at trees, cars, and grass with them!!
Oh, how I love this kid!

First Dentist Visit

Landon had his first dental visit today, and he was so excited to go! When we pulled into the parking lot to the dental office, he told me that he was going to say, "Hi, Dentist" when he saw Dr. L!

Landon had to wait a few minutes for Dr. L to finish up with another patient, and while he waited he got to try on some pretty cool shades!

Landon was so confident sitting in that big chair! I'm so thankful that he wasn't scared or nervous.

Landon did such a great job during his examination, and he did everything that Dr. L told him to do. Dr. L said that Landon is doing a great job of taking care of his teeth!! YAY!! Nothing beats a great report at the dentist office.

Silly Faces and Football

Landon made some silly faces for the camera after bath time the other night.
He thought it was so funny to see his tongue sticking out when we reviewed them on the camera!
So silly!
David is super excited about Redskins vs. Cowboys tomorrow night!! He has invited some of his Redskin friends over to watch the game, and he is calling it a "Redskin Fans Only" night! Ha! Believe it or not, David isn't the only Redskin fan living in Texas, there are a couple of others!

Landon will be decked out in his Redskin gear tomorrow!! This is Landon last year sporting Dad's favorite team!!

Zoo Day

We woke up Sunday morning and decided to make a trip to the zoo.

Landon checking out the animals as soon as we got there.

In deep thought.

The giraffes are always one of my favorite animals to look at at the zoo.

"Hurry, Dad!! Let's go see the elephants!"
Landon liked this little elephant, and he asked if we could take him home!
We got to the zoo shortly after it opened and the weather was so nice, however, after lunch it started getting hot and crowded. We decided to take an ice cream break before heading home.

3 Day Weekend

A three day weekend is just what we needed after a stressful first couple of weeks back at school. We did lots of this!

I think this little boy was happy to have a three day weekend, too!
