Outdoor Fun

The weather was gorgeous Friday afternoon, so we took advantage of it a played outside. We pulled out the chalk, and I made a Hopscotch board for Landon.Landon would jump across the board and say, "Hop, hop, hop".

Look at that boy jump!
David says that Landon is going to be a fast runner because when he runs he lifts his knees up high. I hope he is right!
Oh how I am so ready for warm weather to stay.
I have a feeling we will be spending a lot of time outside this spring.
I know this sweet little face is ready to spend lots of time outside too! This is another reason I know Landon is going to want to spend lots of time outside this spring. We have been looking for a set like this for him for a while, and we found this one on major sale today!! The instructions say that it takes 8-10 hours for two people to put it together...we'll see if they are right.

Sesame Street Live

We took Landon to see Sesame Street Live last Sunday. It is so much fun taking Landon to shows and events that he LOVES!!

Elmo was definitely the star of the show. Kids everywhere were sporting Elmo attire and carrying stuffed Elmos. I don't think I have ever seen so much Elmo stuff in one place. We tried to get a picture of Landon by the "fake" Elmo, but he wasn't having it. You can tell by the picture that he is trying to move away from Elmo. I love this happy face. Here is Landon checking out his new t-shirt.

Totally mesmerized.

Landon had such a wonderful time, and that alone made it okay that we stayed out until 9:30 on a school night!

Cowtown Marathon

I have been a terrible blogger lately! I went on a bloggy break and didn't really even mean to. We have just been so busy the past week or so that I haven't had much computer time at all. Anyway, last Saturday David and I ran the 10K in the Cowtown Marathon, and it was such a great experience. I was a little nervous about running a 10K, because I don't typically run that far (I have always been a runner, just never more than 3 miles at a time), but it wasn't so bad. I think I want to do the half marathon (13.1 miles) next year.

Here we are bright and early in the morning (6am to be exact) before leaving for the race.

Here we are back at home after the race. Our sweet little high school neighbor, Katie, came over to stay with Landon while we were at the race. He was asleep when she came over, and I was so nervous about him getting upset when he woke up and he didn't see David or me. He did just the opposite. Katie said that he started laughing when she went to get him out of his bed. Ha!Little man and me after the race.

You can click the link below to see more pics from the race. There is a video on there as well. You can see me crossing the finish line about 15 seconds into the video (I'm on the far right in my white sweatshirt), and about 15 seconds later you will see David crossing the finish line (he is the one in all black towards the left). And I did say '15 seconds later you will see David', because...I BEAT DAVID!!!!! David and I have been giving each other a hard time about who would cross the finish line first, and I love pestering him about because he gets so fired up!

Octopus Stew

Yep, that's right...octopus stew for lunch!!
First we started with a hotdog and used clean scissors to cut 8 legs! Landon "added" a little seasoning.

Then we threw the "octopus" in a pot of boiling water. When you do this it makes the legs curl up.
And viola...you have a yummy octopus!
Nothing like octopus and macaroni and cheese.Landon found it amusing to twist his octopus and watch the legs spin around. He thought the legs were super yummy...he kept saying, "mmmmmm".
"Oh come on, you know you want some!"

Snow and Bath Fun

When it snowed so much last week, some of the neighbors helped each other out by shoveling the snow off of the driveways and sidewalks. They used shovels and brooms. Landon tried to contribute his share of work using his shovel!! Believe it or not, but we still have snow on the ground from last week...crazy! The snow is mostly in the shady areas, but it is still here.
Landon has been loving bath time lately. I found these colored bath tablets that you drop in the water that turn the water different colors. Tonight he chose a "red" bath.
He originally wanted yellow bath water, but that one disturbs me a bit.
When you ask Landon what his favorite color is he says, "lellow".
Oh how this sweet face melts my heart!

Now if only brushing teeth was as easy as taking a bath! His idea of brushing his teeth is sucking the toothpaste off the toothbrush, so I always go back over them and he does not like it one bit!!

March for Babies...

Our family will be participating in the March for Babies in April. This will be our fourth year to participate. This is something that we LOVE doing as a family each year. We get to support a great cause, and it allows us to keep Logan's memory alive.
While I was on bedrest with Landon, I received weekly shots of progesterone to prevent pre-term labor. March of Dimes funded research that proved that progesterone shots do help prevent pre-term labor. This research may have played a part in the fact that we have Landon here and healthy. We have finished in the top 15 teams in Fort Worth in previous years, and I hope that this year is no different.

If you would like to consider supporting this organization please click HERE to see our personal page. If financial support is not something you can do, please consider joining our team and walking for babies with us. We will even make you a shirt complete with Logan's picture!! These walks take place all over the United States. We will be walking on April 17th in Fort Worth, come join us!!

Thank you to everyone that supported us last year! Thank you for giving hope to the families of babies born too soon or sick.

Winter Wonderland

It snowed for almost 24 hours straight! Big, beautiful, puffy snowflakes. I have never seen snow like this in Texas before...it is just gorgeous outside this morning. The weather man said that this snow is a record snowfall here in north Texas. We have 13 inches of snow here, and the snow drifts along the fence are probably waist deep. Landon stood out in the snow for a bit, and let me take a few pictures. He isn't a big fan of the snow, so he mostly just looked around in awe.

Looks like we will be stuck inside for a while, and I'm totally good with that.
