Ice and Santa

We took Landon to ICE at the Gaylord and we also saw Santa while we were there.

Landon was ready to go in!
Ice slide

We were so cold by the time we were finished, and poor Landon was crying at the end because his fingers were hurting. :(
After we warmed up we went to see Santa.

Landon was not afraid of Santa this year! When it was his turn he walked right up to Santa and held his arms out for Santa to pick him up. Landon was very serious as he sat on Santa's lap, and rather than tell Santa what he wanted for Christmas, Landon talked to him about the elevator that he could see in the distance. I'm sure he wanted to know how it worked! Ha!

On our way home we stopped to get 'The Elf on the Shelf'. We were a little late in starting it this Christmas, however, I can't wait to use it next year!!

Logan

This is not at all
How we thought it was supposed to be
We had so many plans for you
We had so many dreams

And now you've gone away

And left us with the memories of your smile

And nothing we can say and nothing we can do

Can take away the pain, the pain of losing you

But we can cry with hope

We can say goodbye with hope
'Cause we know our goodbye
Is not the end, oh no

And we can grieve with hope
'Cause we believe with hope
There's a place where we'll see your face, again
We'll see your face again

And never have I known
Anything so hard to understand
And never have I questioned more
The wisdom of God's plan

We wait with hope
And we ache with hope
We hold on with hope
We let go with hope

Random Happenings

Landon wrote his first letter! He brought it to me and said, "Look mommy, I made an 'i'!" I think he did a pretty good job!!
Landon received this smart cycle from grandma and grandpa for Christmas and he is more interested in figuring out how it is put together rather than playing the games! His favorite phrase lately is, "How it works?"
Landon doesn't like for me to help him get dressed most of the time, so if we are not going anywhere I usually just let him do it and if it is put on backwards or inside out I just let it be.
So, sometimes his underwear are on backwards, his shirts are inside out, or his socks are on top of his pants!!

Happy 4th Birthday, Logan!

It's hard to believe that another year has passed since Logan was born on that unexpected morning four years ago. I can't help but wondering what he would be like if he were still here with us. I guess it's just normal for my mind to go there.

These anniversary days always bring back so many emotions from those sad days in the hospital, but when my emotions get the best of me I have to remind myself that this chapter in our families lives was part of God's plan for us. I know he had a purpose in bringing Logan with us for only 5 short days, and I try to find comfort in his purpose although I may not know what that purpose is.

Happy 4th Birthday, sweet boy!

Almost There....

We have almost made it to our 2 week Christmas break! One more day...we can DO it!! The Christmas break is always such a wonderful treat, being a teacher does have its perks!!
I am looking forward to spending some quality time with this cute boy!
He enjoyed painting all the small little crevices, but when it came to painting the body of the gingerbread man brown he was done! So, we have a half painted gingerbread man hanging on our tree. Sweet memories.

"Mommy, I wanna cupcake.....pleeeeeease?!?!"

Jammies and Bedtime Stories

There is nothing better and a sweet boy, fresh out of the bathtub, with cute jammies on! Landon listening to, The Very First Christmas, he loves this story! He listens to it over and over and over!

He turned into a giggle box before going to bed!
I love teaching this sweet boy the true meaning of Christmas!
